Nicosia, 7 March 25 (TAK): President Ersin Tatar attended the opening ceremony of the “8 March International Women’s Day Exhibition” consisting of paintings, sculptures, ceramics and printmaking works at the İrfan Günsel Congress Center Exhibition Hall.
According to the information provided by the Presidency, in his speech at the event, President Tatar stated that the Near East University is the center of such events and thanked those who contributed to the exhibition.
Emphasizing that the struggles of women are an expression of gender equality, equal opportunities and the value given to women in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, President Tatar stated that Turkish Cypriot women have always shown themselves with their success in front of society. Noting that Turkish Cypriot women are soldiers of the national struggle, Tatar emphasized that women working and producing is a great asset to the country.
President Tatar stated that art is a mirror of society and said, "It is a whole of a society's history, past and values." Expressing that art is a universal language and a source of communication between societies, President Tatar stated that works of art are important works because they reflect society.
President Ersin Tatar, noting that the efforts, successes and struggle of the women of the country and the point of civilization they have carried the Turkish Cypriot people to is a great source of pride, congratulated those who contributed to the exhibition and wished them continued success.
