Nicosia, 7 March 25 (TAK): “Working Life Information Seminar” was organized for disabled individuals.
The seminar, which was held within the scope of the "Empowerment of Disabled Individuals: Protection of the Rights of Disabled Individuals by Removing Obstacles to Employment Project" financed by the European Union under the Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot Community and implemented by the Turkish Cypriot Orthopaedic Disabled Association (KTOÖD), was held at the Barrier-Free Life House affiliated with the Social Services Department in Demirhan.
According to the information provided by the Ministry, Minister of Labor and Social Security Sadık Gardiyanoğlu, who attended the seminar, expressed that they were very pleased to support the ongoing project as a Ministry.
Minister Gardiyanoğlu stated that he will hold a meeting with economic organizations next week to increase and extend the incentives for private sector businesses that will employ disabled people, and that they will make new arrangements to encourage disabled employment and enable disabled individuals to participate in working life.
In the seminar presented by Life Coach İpek Kabidan, the participants were informed about the psycho-social gains that disabled individuals will gain from being in business life, that there are business areas and practices that are suitable for each individual's unique knowledge, talents and dreams, and the importance of breaking negative belief patterns in order to achieve this ideal.
Also at the seminar, Günay Kibrit, President of the Turkish Cypriot Orthopaedic Disabled Association, provided information on the legal regulations regarding the employment of disabled individuals in the northern part of Cyprus and the employment opportunities for disabled individuals in the public, local administrations and private sectors.
