“Human trafficking and exploitation are crimes that no society can accept, and it is the responsibility of all of us to fight against them.”

Nicosia, March 7, 25 (TAK): Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı, in his message on the occasion of March 8, International Women's Day, emphasized that the place and rights of women in society are too valuable to be limited to one day.

“The tragic incident that took place recently has deeply shaken us all. This painful incident has once again revealed a truth that cannot be ignored: We have to take more determined steps against systems that exploit women and disregard their dignity. Human trafficking and exploitation are crimes that no society can accept, and it is the responsibility of all of us to fight against them,” said Arıklı, continuing his message as follows:

“As a state, it is our duty to provide an order where women can live in safety, to ensure that justice is administered and to raise social awareness. We must take determined steps to ensure that women receive the value they deserve, not just one day but every day.

On this occasion, I would like to pay my respects to all women who struggle in every aspect of life and resist for their labor and honor. I would like to emphasize my belief that we will all work together to build a fair and equal society.”
